Tuesday Lunchtime Pickleball
We are excited to introduce Lunchtime Pickleball on Tuesdays - a fun and engaging way to stay active and connected during your lunch break! Our indoor facilities are perfect for communal sports, offering a welcoming environment for players of all skill levels. Whether you're a seasoned pickleball enthusiast or a complete beginner, these sessions provide an ideal opportunity to enjoy a quick and energizing game with other likeminded people.
What is it?
Pickleball is the latest sporting craze, combining features from both badminton and tennis. Using a plastic ball and paddles, it's played on a smaller court with a lower net, designed for singles or doubles. We offer a casual format, where fixtures are unorganised and all games are self-umpired by participants.

What is the cost?
Our Lunchtime Pickleball Sessions are affordably priced at just $10 per session where you can stay for as little or as long as you like during the two hour session. It's a great way to experience the excitement of pickleball without breaking the bank!
If you don't have a paddle, that's ok! We have racquet hire covered ($5 hire fee with a $10 deposit), just see our friendly team at Reception at the start of your session. Balls are provided as part of the session.
When is it?
Starting Tuesday 6 August, our Lunchtime Pickleball Sessions will be held every Tuesday from 12:00pm - 2:00pm. These sessions are open to participants aged 16 and older, making them perfect for young adults, students, and professionals alike. Whether you're looking for a new hobby or a fun way to break up your workday, join us for an invigorating game of pickleball!

Pickleball Rules
Participants will play games to 11 points, in the doubles format. Singles will only be played if required due to numbers.

All rules are as per the official USA Pickleball rules, with minor amendments intended to enhance the playing experience at Lords Recreation Centre.
Pickleball Gameplay
- Social Pickleball operates without strict regulations regarding match times and court sharing. We trust players to effectively manage court space and time, encouraging courteous behaviour by allowing all participants the opportunity to play or warm up as needed.
- Lords Recreation Centre cannot guarantee how many patrons will enrol into this program, and fees will apply regardless of enrolments or numbers in attendance on the day. We will endeavour to provide competitive games, nonetheless.
- All games are expected to be played in a doubles format. Singles matches may only be played if participation numbers are low.
- Players of all skill levels and experience are welcomed and encouraged to participate in casual pickleball sessions.
Participation
- Participants agree to abide by any program specific guidelines outlined by Lords Recreation Centre Programs and Facilities Team.
- All patrons & players are responsible for their own insurance and engage at their own risk.
- In the event of an emergency, participants authorise Lords Recreation Centre staff to seek medical emergency services and call for an ambulance if necessary.
- All participants must possess the requisite medical and physical capability to engage in physical activity. Furthermore, they should demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of and acknowledge the inherent risks associated with undertaking exercise independently.
